Mission of Innocents: providing hope and enrichment for displaced children worldwide.
At Landry & Kling, we put our hearts into every project, especially those involving people and communities affected by natural disasters or humanitarian crises. Our work on two accommodation ship charters for Ukrainian refugees in Scotland inspired the children’s nonprofit Mission of Innocents.
In 2022, Landry & Kling Global Ship Solutions was appointed to provide temporary ship accommodations for over 3,000 Ukrainian refugees on behalf of the Scottish Government. Landry & Kling CEO Joyce Landry relocated to Scotland to manage the project and lived onboard the accommodation vessels alongside displaced Ukrainians.
The 18-month humanitarian mission deeply affected Joyce and her team, who recognized an urgent need to support the well-being of 800 children living on the ships. This experience led to the formation of Landry & Kling’s 5021(c)(3) nonprofit, Mission of Innocents.
Mission of Innocents: Our Work and Vision
Mission of Innocents aims to nurture the self-worth and healing of children displaced from their homes due to war, political or economic instability, and climate disasters. We intend that these children will not be permanently wounded from their experience. We bring joy and hope back into their lives through art, music, dance, education, sports, and curated experiences.
Since its founding, Mission of Innocents has been a beacon of hope, positively impacting the lives of Ukrainian refugee children in Scotland. The enrichment programs, including the celebrated Children’s Choir, continue to thrive on land through partnerships with local community organizations.

While Landry & Kling continues to provide ship and vessel housing solutions for the global refugee and asylum seeker crisis, Mission of Innocents plans to reach more displaced communities, offering support where needed.
