Our Journey to Global Leadership
In 1982, cruise line veterans Joyce Landry and Josephine Kling started Landry & Kling, the first company to focus on business meetings and incentives at sea. Over time, we expanded and became leaders in ship sourcing and logistics for groups, charters, dockside accommodations, and long-term temporary housing vessel projects.
Our work includes organizing ship-based corporate meetings, incentive programs, floating accommodation dockside charters for major events, workforce housing vessels, music and special interest charters, and ships for disaster relief and humanitarian aid.
Some of our key dockside ship accommodation projects include the 4th Arab/African Summit in Equatorial Guinea, the Fifth Summit of the Americas in Trinidad, the G7 Summit in Cornwall, the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, and the Rio Summer Olympics, and the Scottish Government’s Ukrainian Resettlement Initiative.
In 2022, the Scottish Government chose Landry & Kling to provide ship-based housing for Ukrainian refugees in Glasgow and Edinburgh. We quickly secured two vessels to accommodate over 2,000 displaced people, including 800 children. Our CEO, Joyce Landry, moved to Scotland and lived onboard a humanitarian ship to oversee the project. Joyce helped establish children’s programs onboard the vessels and founded the Mission of Innocents, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hope and joy to displaced children in Scotland and around the globe.

What’s Landry & Kling’s biggest project?
One of our most significant projects involved brokering five cruise ship charters used as dockside “floating hotels” in Jacksonville, Florida during Super Bowl XXXIX. Landry & Kling’s onsite staff stayed onboard all five ships to handle client and corporate sponsor requests, ship customization and branding, and meetings and events held in different ship venues.
