One of the world’s largest and most active service organizations wanted to celebrate American history and honor their members during their 125th anniversary association milestone cruise. There were no appropriate ships or itineraries in their desired destination during their time frame, but Landry & Kling found the perfect solution – with an added bonus!
The Organization & Program Background
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education. Its members are descended from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary
Throughout 2015, the Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated 125 years of service to America. This significant anniversary was an incredible opportunity to share DAR’s fascinating history as well as the organization’s contemporary relevance. The recognition/anniversary cruise was offered to honor the members who made the DAR what it is today and celebrate those who continue their work for the future
Because of DAR’s historical focus, they wanted to cruise in the”Colonial South” but there were no cruises in this region suitable in length or quality in October to coincide with another meeting as a post-cruise opportunity.
Landry & Kling’s “Elegant Solution”
Landry & Kling identified a very suitable cruise with historical significance, sailing to New England from New York City to Boston, Newport, Halifax which also allowed them to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island, NY.
- A total of 196 members & guests sailed on Regal Princess during the 7-night Canada/New England cruise.
- DAR’s New York chapter hosted a special tour & visit to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, NY
- Other passengers noticed all the group’s fun, attended DAR’s genealogy session and inquired about joining – a great result to expand membership.
- All had such a memorable time, our client is now moving forward with another cruise in 2019
