Norwegian Cruise Line revealed more details about Norwegian Bliss, their new, 4,000-passenger ship that promises a spectacular cruising experience for groups who meet at sea. Boasting new design features and several “first at sea” innovations, Bliss will offer 7-night cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean with select voyages to the Mexican Riviera beginning in June 2018.
Norwegian Bliss will offer myriad dining options; multiple bars, lounges, and intimate spaces; and world-class entertainment that Norwegian Cruise Line ships are known for. But new experiences abound!
Here are just a few of the new venues & amenities Norwegian Bliss will introduce:
Heart-Pumping Activities with Ocean Views
Thrilling activities spanning the ship’s top deck will delight attendees of all ages. The 2-level competitive race track, the longest at sea at nearly 1,000 feet, features twists and turns with four speed settings reaching up to 30 miles per hour. The electric cars run silent, but drivers will have the full racing experience as sounds of a race car engine are piped in through speakers located in the car’s headrest.
An open-air laser tag course – another “first at sea” – will be themed as an abandoned space station and be open day and night. Think of the team-building opportunities!
Not for the faint of heart, the high-speed Ocean Loops free fall slide (pictured below) includes two exhilarating loops, one that extends out over the side of the ship and a second see-through loop that stretches down to the deck below, sure to offer a wet and wild ride. The tandem Aqua Racer slide allows guests to race side-by-side on inner tubes for more than 360 feet, with a translucent section that provides stunning ocean views.
Delectable Food Choices
Modern décor and premium ingredients will meet southern flavors at Q, the all-new Texas Smokehouse that will feature authentic Texas barbeque and live contemporary pop country music in a sleek urban setting.
Los Lobos is Norwegian’s new upscale restaurant serving elevated Mexican cuisine and handcrafted margaritas, with indoor and outdoor seating.
Norwegian Bliss will serve up premium quality cuisine with fresh ingredients in all complimentary dining venues with rotating menus curated by the brand’s coveted culinary team. In a new complimentary dining concept, The Local will offer guests pub fare in a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere 24 hours a day.
The Cellars Wine Bar will offer a curated wine list featuring top selections from Washington-area vineyards, Tuscany, and Michael Mondavi’s own Napa Valley Estate, as well as light bites from La Cucina. The Cellars will also offer light bites from La Cucina and daily interactive educational seminars and tastings.
Norwegian Bliss will be the first ship sailing the West coast to feature 678 Ocean Place, a three-deck central hub of the ship with restaurants, shops, and entertainment (rendering below); as well as The Waterfront – the outdoor promenade designed to enhance guests’ connection to the ocean with al fresco dining, bars and lounge spaces. Plenty of appealing spaces for meetings, group events, and breakouts.
Two observation lounges, including the exclusive Horizon Lounge for guests of The Haven, will be perfect for whale watching in Alaska or hosting a cocktail reception while taking in sunsets in the Caribbean.
A wide variety of accommodations include luxurious suites in exclusive The Haven by Norwegian (pictured below), Studio staterooms for solo travelers with virtual ocean views, and new connecting staterooms ideal for large groups and families traveling together. The Haven private suite enclave can be bought out for groups – ensuring complete privacy.
Norwegian Bliss will also feature an incredible lineup of entertainment offerings including the Tony-Award winner for “Best Musical” Jersey Boys. A second musical, produced exclusively for Norwegian by Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Warren Carlyle, will pay tribute to Cuba’s culture through dancing, music and colorful pageantry. Bonus: no costly transfers or ticket prices!
So…where will your next blissful event take you – Alaska or Caribbean?
