In the event of a hurricane, flood, or other natural or man-made catastrophe, Landry & Kling Global Cruise Services can help. We have the contacts and experience to rapidly mobilize disaster relief ships & emergency response vessels for much-needed relief operations and temporary housing.

Passenger ships, ferries, barges, and floatels are used to transport life-saving supplies, humanitarian aid, and equipment to the affected areas. These vessels also offer safe, secure accommodations for medical personnel, disaster response teams, workforce crews, and displaced citizens.

We have immediate access to all types of ships and vessels around the globe to provide cost-effective housing solutions during critical disaster response and long-term recovery projects.

Turn-Key Temporary Housing Solutions

Following a hurricane or other natural disaster, chartered ships provide a healthy, safe space and temporary housing for displaced families and first responders. All vessels have been thoroughly disinfected and follow the strictest COVID-19 sanitation & health protocols, beginning with pre-boarding and throughout the charter period

Floatel used for workforce housingThe ship’s sleeping rooms and other venues can be used by insurance adjusters, clean-up crews, construction teams, and medical/health care professionals. In addition to included meals, housekeeping/room service, and medical facilities, passenger ships also offer comfortable bars & lounges, meeting space, storage capacity, and fitness facilities onsite.

Landry & Kling Global Cruise Events is uniquely qualified to manage this type of project. Our company has organized ship charters for urgent relief situations including evacuation, emergency housing services, floating medical centers, humanitarian aid, restoration, and rebuilding.

As an approved vendor with the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), we have assisted with numerous government ship charter contracts. Our most significant involved a six-month Hurricane Katrina relief mission in the Gulf of Mexico and humanitarian aid after Haiti’s devastating earthquake.

Floating Hospitals, Quarantine Ships and Medical Support Vessels

During the coronavirus pandemic, there are many out-of-service ships and other types of vessels that can be rapidly converted into emergency “floating hospitals” or quarantine ships. The ships will be thoroughly disinfected, reconfigured as needed, and fully stocked with food, medical equipment, and hospital supplies.

Some sections of the ships would be devoted to COVID-19 patients and those under quarantine. Other safe areas would be established on different decks with separate air ventilation systems to accommodate medical staff, paramedical personnel, and other health care workers.

We’ve done the research and can quickly access the appropriate vessels around the world to serve as temporary hospital ships. Landry & Kling is waiving our customary service charges for logistics and consultation during this unprecedented time for governments, federal agencies, health organizations, and private entities with serious intent.
