A recent survey from the Incentive Research Foundation and MeetingsNet confirmed it: When it comes to producing fresh meetings and motivating incentive programs, planners agree …

It’s All About the Wow

Successful events must include unique and meaningful experiences – which is why cruise ship venues are becoming increasingly popular for all types of meetings, incentives, and corporate group events. Ships have built-in experiences that simply cannot be found on land!

A few examples from the L&K cruise event specialists:

Transforming Venues

Landry & King helped a client transform a ship’s pool deck into an elegant, moonlit restaurant with fine china and silver – exclusively for their group. Another client requested the pool deck for a farewell group event, but it wasn’t available.

The “elegant solution”? Landry & Kling’s Program Manager proposed taking over the basketball court and transforming the sports deck to a party deck. New lighting, a portable DJ booth, inflatable furniture, Gobo lights and plenty of neon glow sticks added to the South Beach-style club vibe. Read more about this “non-conventional” cruise meeting.

Unique cruise experiences

ncl_Brkwy_RopesCourse_354-300x200-2Many big ships include multi-deck sports complexes with climbing walls, ropes courses and zip lines (great for team-building!); oceanside promenades with more outdoor venues; plus award-winning entertainment and Broadway shows (without the pricey ticket fees).

On smaller premium ships, you can expect exclusive shoreside events (complimentary with some cruise lines) and in-depth destination exploration.

Culturally authentic & active shore excursions have replaced passive bus tours. And of course, there’s the excitement of traveling to several alluring destinations and only unpacking once!

Culinary tours & cooking classes

Have any foodies in your group? Some premium cruise lines (Oceania Cruises, for example), offer culinary tours where groups can go ashore with the Chef to shop in local markets, taste authentic flavors of a region, participate in a local cooking class, and then return to the ship to hone their skills at the Culinary Center.

A cruise offers fun ways to stay fit

Staying fit and healthy during a meeting or incentive trip has never been this much fun – both onboard the ship and ashore! Here are 12 Awesome ways to add fitness and fun to your meetings.

Cruise ship charters for ultimate experiences

For companies that need exclusivity and freedom to customize, chartering a ship is the way to go. A privately rented cruise ship is a unique experience that attendees cannot duplicate on their own. Customize to your heart’s content! The onboard meals, entertainment, daily program – even itinerary and ports of call can be adjusted to meet your program needs. For more information about ship charters, check out Landry & Kling’s website: shipcharters.com.
